Blythewood notes: The Bengals improved to 3-1 last week with a dominant performance in a 40-7 romp over district rival Richland Northeast … Blythewood rolled for a school record 334 yards rushing with Brandon Wilds in the forefront. Wilds set a school single-game rushing mark, and became the first Bengal to ever run for more than 200 yards. His final tally: 221 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. Wilds now is halfway to becoming the first Blythewood runner to surpass 1,000 yards in a season. To date, he has 512 yards on the books and is averaging 7.3 yards per carry. The single-season record of 998 was established quarterback Richard Mounce in Blythewood’s inaugural, state championship campaign in 2006 … The defense, meanwhile, limited the Cavaliers to a meager 173 total yards. Russell Taylor had seven tackles, while Curtis Hill had five tackles, two TFL and three quarterback hurries.
Dutch Fork notes: The Silver Foxes fell to 1-2 in the wake of a 14-7 loss last week to previously winless Ridge View … Caulie George hauled in a 68-yard scoring pass from Brice Green in the second quarter for the first score of the game, but DF was blanked over the final 31 minutes of play … In the end, the Foxes managed only 188 yards against the Blazers defense and turned the ball over two times. RV sealed the verdict with an interception at its own 5-yard line with one second left on the clock …
