Dreher notes: The Blue Devils took a 31-21 lead in the fourth quarter vs. Keenan on Leonard Kennedy scoring run, but coughed up two touchdown passes down the stretch to fall 34-31 ... For the second year in a row Dreher is 1-4 entering Region 5-3A with the lone win coming against Eau Claire … Kennedy ran for 175 yards and scored four touchdowns and 26 points in all vs. Keenan. The Blue Devils rolled for 303 yards on the ground, marking the second time this season they’ve had 300 or more rushing yards … For the season, Kennedy has darted for 674 yards and eight TDs on 76 carries. Jackson Edwards (285 yards, 2 TDs) and Sheldon Van Dyke (225 yards, 2 TDs) have offered nice support in the running game … Farrington Huguenin (53 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries) and Shane Van Dyke (42 tackles) are the defensive leaders.
South Aiken notes: The Thoroughbreds dominated winless Barnwell 23-6 last week for its first win of the season … SA rolled for 287 yards by land, and limited the Warhorses to 83 net offensive yards. Fatron Holston was the big gun for the T-Breds, finishing with 140 yards on 15 carries. He had a 62-yard scoring dash in the second quarter that proved to be the game winner.
Series history: South Aiken scored a 35-0 win last season as the series resumed for the first time in 17 years. The Blue Devils have beaten the T-Breds only two twice in 11 tries. The last Dreher victory was by a 10-7 count in 1988.
