Game notes: Camden will honor its senior players in Friday’s final regular season home game against the winless Lakewood Gators. On paper, this should be no contest, but the Bulldogs can’t afford to be looking ahead to the Week 10 showdown at Marlboro County with the Region 6-3A championship hanging in the balance … Camden kept pace with MC atop the standings with a 46-42 win last week at Darlington … The balance, productive Camden attack is averaging 33,6 points and 381 yards a game this season. The Bulldogs have scored 40 or more points in four games to date – the most since the 2002 season. Key operatives include quarterback Josh Council, running back SaVonn Wingate and receivers Alvonta Jenkins and Glenn Quattlebaum. Council is 74-for-162 passing for 1,382 yards and 19 touchdowns and has 489 yards and seven TDs by land. Wingate has 880 yards and eight TDs on the books. Jenkins has 25 catches for 544 yards and six scores, while Quattlebaum has 22 grabs for 435 yards and eight TDs … The list of standouts on the defensive side includes Sterling Green (67 tackles), Melquan Lee (66 tackles), Zack Neal (63 tackles), Jerel Robinson (57 tackles, 3 sacks, 13 TFL), Sheldon Wright (45 tackles, 1 sack, 10 TFL) and Sjahbar Stewart (38 tackles, 4 sacks, 11 TFL).
Series history: The Bulldogs and 5-0 vs. the Gators, but the last two meetings have been quite competitive affairs.
