GREER - Undefeated Greer let A.C. Flora hang around for most of Tuesday night's opening game of the Class 3A state playoffs but pulled away in the fourth quarter to take an 89-70 victory at Lewis Phillips Arena.
The Yellow Jackets (25-0) led only 60-56 after three quarters but opened the final frame with a 15-2 run.
"We would get a lead and stop playing defense and start taking risky shots," said Greer senior Chandler Hash, who scored 32 points. "We got away from what we are used to doing. When we made runs, we were playing defense and taking good shots."
Akeem Williams led A.C. Flora with 19 points, and Matthew Howard added 18.
