Player of the year: Kelly Presper
What she did: Won silver in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 17.82 seconds. Placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:37.82
What is your first swimming memory? My first 200 freestyle at the USC pool, I was about 8 years old, my goggles came off, and I ended up doing a flip turn in the middle of the pool and completely missing the wall. I thought I won at the end, but then they told me I didn't touch the wall.
What is your best event? My favorite event is the 200 I.M. because it's the only one that has all the strokes. I would say breaststroke is my best stroke.
What do you like to do when you're not swimming? I try to hang out with my friends as much as possible, but usually I don't have too much time for that.
How much time do you spend swimming? Two hours every day, and on Saturday we have four hours of practice.
What's the plan on Saturday nights? Usually go home, watch a movie and spend time with my mom and dad.
Do you have pets? I have two cats, Nikki and Sake. I think my mom named them because I was too young; I don't know how old they are, but we've had them for a while.
What is your dream car? I'm turning 15 in about eight days, but I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm just looking forward to getting my permit.
What is the last book you read? "Life of Pi" for a school assignment. I enjoyed reading it.
Where do you see yourself in 2020? Hopefully I'll be starting to work. I see myself in a job where I interact with and help other people.
