State champions Marshall Williams of Dutch Fork and Trey Leonard of Columbia lead a contingent of 11 Midlands wrestlers selected to participate in the South Carolina Wrestling Coaches Association’s All-Star Classic event this weekend at North Myrtle Beach High School.
Williams, who capped a 48-0 senior season by winning his second straight Class 4A 285-pound state championship, will fill heavyweight spot for the South Carolina team for their match against a team of Georgia senior all-stars on Friday at 7:45 p.m.
Leonard, who became Columbia High’s first state champion with his successful 171 title run at the Class 2A-1A state tournament and finished with a 119-15 career record, will wrestle in the North-South showdown Friday at 6 p.m.
Irmo’s Kyle Manross joins Williams on the South Carolina team, and will wrestle at 130 pounds.

The rest of the Midlands all-stars are involved in the North-South match, including Stephen Boneparte and Max Fowler of Lugoff-Elgin, Austin Amick and Drew Neff of Gilbert, Chapin’s Cory Cromer, Swansea’s Kyle Livingston, Lexington’s Garrett Corbett and Dutch Fork’s John Brannigan.
