A.C. Flora opened the International Paper Classic baseball tournament on Thursday with a rousing 14-3, five-inning win over host Georgetown.
Connor Lewis was the Falcons headliner in the romp, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBIs and was the winning pitcher. Lewis belted a double and two home runs. His three-run shot came in ACF’s 10-run eruption in the second inningand ended his productive day with a sole homer in the fifth.
In all, the Falcons banged out 16 hits. Catcher David Houser was 3-for-4, including a solo home run. Designated hitter Aaron Poole, right fielder Russell Gahagen and left fielder Schroeder Carlton all finished with two RBIs.
Flora, which is the only Midlands entry at the IP Classic this year, plays old playoff rival Riverside on Friday at 1 p.m.
