Blair was 19-for-29 passing for 230 yards and four touchdowns. WR Craig Weick caught five passes for 107 yards and two TDs The Byrnes defense had seven sacks and did not allow any touchdowns until the final 1:17 of the game.
Dutch Fork notes: The Region 4 champion Silver Foxes (10-2) can set a new single-season school record for wins by defeating the vaunted Rebels and moving on to the Class 4A semifinals for the fourth time in school history DF reached the 10-win plateau for the fourth time and extended their current winning streak to nine games in last week’s 30-25 first round win over Clover The Foxes rang up 440 yards on the attack, and got the winning touchdown on a 25-yard run by Brandon Quattlebaum with 3:28 to go. Quattlebaum and QB Justin Suber took care off all the damage on the ground. Quattlebaum finished with 100 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Suber was 18-for-21 passing for 277 yards and two TDs. Quattlebaum and Jordan Berry were on the reciving end of Suber’s scoring tosses Brandon Fulton (6 tackles, 3 TFL) and Gary Coates (4 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks) were defensive standouts and Paul Bynoe sealed the deal with an interception at the DF 21 with 16 seconds to go.
Playoff history: The Rebels have the most glorious playoff history in the modern era of South Carolina prep football. Byrnes is No. 1 in the playoff winning percentage (51-15, .773) among all teams with at least 15 postseason games on the books and No. 1 in state titles earned since 1970 (9) The Silver Foxes are 10-13 and have never made it to a championship game. DF’s has been denied in the semifinals three times – 1994, 1996 and 2006.
