White Knoll lost its piece of first place in Region 5-4A boys basketball with a bitter loss to Lexington on Friday. The fired-up Timberwolves took out their frustration on North Augusta on Tuesday, downing the Yellow Jackets, who were part of a three-way log jam atop the standings, 62-54 on Tuesday.
Quinton Creed paced White Knoll (12-7 overall) with a 24-point performance, and he received solid backing from Keith Jumper (10), Xen Singleton (10) and Julian Johnson (8). The T-Wolves now share third place with North Augusta and are still very much in the hunt for the region championship and a home date in the first round of the state playoffs.
Meanwhile, Lexington and Aiken emerged with wins on Tuesday and are tied for first place.
Lexington (16-5, 4-1) smoked last place South Aiken 72-45 at home. Brandon Adams continued to recent scoring surge with a game high 23 points. Shaq Roland (15) and Nigel Gates (10) added double-digit support.

Lexington 4-1, Aiken 4-1, White Knoll 3-2, North Augusta 3-2, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 1-4, South Aiken 0-5.
In girls play, Lexington ran past South Aiken 63-31 and North Augusta blasted White Knoll 61-15.
The Wildcats improved to 8-4 overall with the easy win. Four players chipped in with double-figure production – Janai Pinckney (13 points), Laura Beth Neal (12), Jasmine Pinckney (10) and Allison Kay (10).
