Keenan finds itself alone at the top of the Region 3-2A boys basketball standings.
The Raiders improved to 19-3 overall, 7-1 in region matters, by thumping Gilbert 81-33 on Friday, while Eau Claire was being upset on the road by Strom Thurmond.
Quinton Johnson and Kiante Curenton shared scoring honors for Keenan with 16 points apiece, while Eric Hopins (11) and Erick Tisdale (10) offered double-digit support.
Eau Claire dropped back into a tie for second place with Columbia in the wake of its 54-43 setback at Strom Thurmond. The Shamrocks never quite recovered from a slow start when the host Rebels built a 14-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. Marquise Lyles scored 12 points and A.J. Caldwell added 10 for EC.
Columbia (11-9, 6-2) set up Tuesday second-place showdown at Eau Claire by defeating Batesburg-Leesville 65-52. The Capitals had plenty of production from Justin Metze (20 points), McArtha Thompson (12) and Marcus Praylow (10).

In girls action, Eau Claire tuned up for Tuesday confrontation with front-running Columbia by whipping Strom Thurmond 54-24. The Shamrocks improved to 15-5 overall, 7-1 in the region. Thaesha Lyles scored a game high 19 points and Ebony Ross power inside for 14.
Keenan (15-6, 5-3) capped a 2-0 week with a 62-20 rout of Gilbert as Daisha Eddy rang up 30 points and Jocolby Brown posted 15.
