Dreher opened the 2010-11 basketball season with a win over Hartsville in the first round of the Viking Invitational preseason tournament in November.
The Blue Devils were no match for the Red Foxes in the rematch in the Class 3A state girls basketball playoffs. Host Hartsville wasted little time establishing dominance and cruised to an 86-47 win to move on to the Lower State championship game on Saturday against Myrtle Beach at The Citadel in Charleston.
The Red Devils, in their first season at the Class 3A level, raced to a 23-6 lead by the close of the first period, and upped the advantage to 49-17 by halftime.
Dreher had no answers for the Hartsville duo to Jasmine Phillips and Emily Jackson. Phillips posted 35 points and 24 points in an awesome performance, while Jackson fired in 24.
Never miss a local story.
Freshmen Jazmine Robinson and Kaydra Duckett led the Blue Devils with 17 and 13 points, respectively.
Youthful Dreher, which starts three freshmen, finished the season with a 17-10 record and advanced to the Elite Eight round of the postseason for the seventh time in 11 tries since 2001.
