Lexington will field a relatively young baseball team this season, but one that has shot at improving on last year’s final 15-13 overall grade.
“We will be young but we still have a lot of experience,” said Wildcat manager Tommy Mishoe. “There are only two positions needed to be filled from a year ago. We may not have a dominant pitcher, but we do have five or six guys that are solid and pretty equal.”
Junior 2B Colie Bowers, sophomore SS Cody Smith, senior 3B Richie McCullough and senior outfielders Chad Lee, Ross Richardson and Aric Bane are the returning starters.
Mishoe listed juinior 1B Collin Steagall, junior C Samuel Dacus, junior INF AJ Hart, junior OF Austin Bello and right-handed pitcher Will Motley and Nick Jobst as potential impact newcomers.
Junior C/1B Michael Miller, junior C/1B Connor Mitchell, junior INF Ben Whitmire, junior OF/P Dillon Hodge, junior OF Archie Owens, sophomore OF/P Cole McMillian and sophomore LHP Josh Reagan round out the varsity roster.
The Wildcats open the regular season with a Region 5-4A home game against North Augusta.
