Series history: The Lions from Georgia enjoy a 6-2 lead in the series, including a split last season. Ben Lippen was the regular season winner, but AC shocked the Falcons with a 9-7 upset in the first round of the state playoffs.
Hammond vs. Florence Christian

Last week: Hammond (1-1) saw its 18-game winning steak come to an end in Sumter, courtesy of a 14-13 loss to Wilson Hall. The vaunted Skyhawks running game managed only 54 yards, and senior star Joey DeAngelis was limited to 19 yards on 11 carries. Jake Nidiffer carried the Hammond attack by hitting on 14 of 24 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns Florence Christian is 0-2 and coming off a 35-22 loss to Hilton head Christian.
Series history: The Skyhawks thumped FC 56-0 in the first football meeting of the schools last season.
Cardinal Newman vs. Bishop England
Site: George Watson Stadium. Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Last week: The Cardinals (0-2) did not play poorly on defense last week in a 31-17 loss to Augusta Christian, which had an interception return touchdown and a punt return score. Sophomore Garrett McNerney and junior Kody Watson threw touchdown passes for the Cards BE (1-1) is coming off a wild 49-35 win over Hanahan – its first win over the long-time rival Hawks in 16 years.
Series history: The Bishops from Charleston are 3-0 in the Hibernian Bowl game that began in 2008 under former Cardinal coach Mike Bolchoz, who is now the principal at Bishop England.
Orangeburg Prep vs. Heathwood Hall

Last week: Heathwood Hall fell to 0-2 with a 56-23 loss at Porter-Gaud. Joe Thompson ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns, Will Detwiler had 248 yards passing and Shelton Whittaker had 148 yards receiving abnd caught one TD pass. But the Highlanders defense did not do much. P-G finished with 164 yards by land, 242 by air Orangeburg Prep is off to a 3-0 start, and opened SCISA 3A conference play with a 20-19 overtime road win at Laurence Manning Academy.
Series history: OP ended an eight-game losing streak against the Highlanders with a 48-14 win in Columbia last season. Heathwood Hall enjoys a commanding 13-3 series edge.
