Camden vs. Lakewood

Game notes: Camden (2-6, 0-3 Region 6-3A) is fast running out of options. In fact, the Bulldogs only shot at making the state playoff cut must start with a win this week against a vastly improved team. Camden is fresh from a 31-10 loss at Darlington ... Lakewood (6-2, 1-2) is coming off as tough 39-33 loss to Marlboro County.
Series history: Camden is 6-0 against Lakewood, pulling off a 20-0 win last season for the first shutout verdict in the series.

A.C. Flora vs. Lower Richland
Site: Memorial Stadium. Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Game notes: Sixth-ranked A.C. Flora (7-1, 3-0 Region 5-3A) blasted Midlands Valley 40-14. The Falcons piled up 24 first downs and 552 yards, while limiting the Mustangs to a meager net of 147 yards. QB Stephen Cagle was 13-for-27 passing for 240 yards and two touchdowns, and had 76 yards and two TDs by land. Jamey Dye had 88 yards rushing and one TD and caught three passes for 30 yards. WR Schroder Carlton had five receptions for 80 yards and two scores. Cagle is 97-for-165 passing for 1,709 yards and 17 touchdowns with just four interceptions this season. Donte Lovett is the season leader in tackles (92) and sacks (3.5) Lower Richland (2-6, 1-3) took a 29-14 loss at home to Airport. Marcus Edmonds scored both Diamond Hornet touichdowns.
Series history: Flora has won only six times in 23 tries against the Diamond Hornets since 1970, but the Falcons are riding a two-game winning streak vs. LR.
Airport vs. Dreher
Site: Eagle Stadium. Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Game notes: Eighth-ranked Airport (7-1, 3-1 Region 5-3A). RB Davon Hopkins ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in last week’s 29-14 win over Lower Richland. QB Kelvin Harris has one scoring run, one scoring pass and a two-point conversion pass. Harris has 739 yards passing to date, and leads the Eagles in scoring with 11 touchdowns (66 points). Josh Hillian is the team season tackles leader with 83. Anthony Stewart has four interceptions Dreher (3-5, 2-1) whipped Brookland-Cayce 51-21. QB Joe Fennessey had one scoring run and a 62-yard scoring pass to James Huggins, who also had a scoring run. B-C tallied the first points of the game in the first quarter, but Josh Wilkins had a 99-yard scoring response on the ensuing kickoff. Fennessey now has 1,085 passing yards on the books.
Series history: Dreher won the first three meetings of the teams (1965-68), but Airport has since nine of 10 against the Blue Devils, including a 45-28 verdict last season.
Midland Valley vs. Brookland-Cayce
Site: LL Willis Stadium. Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Game notes: Brookland-Cayce (2-6, 1-3 Region 5-3A) is coming off a 51-21 loss to Dreher, but the Bearcats can nail down a state playoff bid with a win over the Mustangs. QB Ezekiel Walker had two touchdown runs for B-C last week. Walker is 120-for-191 passing for 1,207 yards Midland Valley (1-7, 0-3) has its back to the wall, as well. But the Mustangs have a fighting chance in its final two games against B-C and Lower Richland.
Series history: Midland Valley has won four in a row to increase its series lead to 20-11.
Chapin vs. Chapman
Site: Cecil Woolbright Stadium. Time: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Game notes: Chapin (3-5, 1-2 Region 3-3A) can clinch a state playoff berth with a win. The Eagles took a 44-20 loss last week at the hands of Blue Ridge with starting quarterback Matt Charpia sitting out with an injury. RB Robie Lopez was the nominal offensive leader with 66 yards rushing and two touchdowns Chapman (2-6, 0-3) came out on the short end of a 49-44 score in a wild offensive show at Union County.
Series history: Chapin’s 31-21 win a year ago gave the Eagles a 2-1 series lead.
