C.A. Johnson continued its winning ways in Region 3-1A, sweeping McBee on Friday.
The Green Hornets (6-9, 4-0) girls scored a 37-28 win over the visiting Panthers in an early first-place showdown. Deja Smith posted another double double for CAJ, ringing up 13 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Smith was also credited with six blocks, two steals and three assists in a fine all around performance. Logan Furtick (8 points, 7 rebounds, 8 steals, 5 assists) and Shatavia Flowers (10 rebounds) also made solid contributions.
In the nightcap, C.A. Johnson (6-9, 3-1) maintained its grip on second place in the boys standings behind No. 1 Great Falls with a 45-33 win. Peter Goodman was the lone double-digit man for the Green Hornets, but Michael Knox and Anthony Eaddy backed Goodman with nine points apiece.
