Gilbert’s girls basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak on Friday at home with a 51-41 Region 3-2A win against Batesburg-Leesville. Kelsey Hancock and Kathryn Cochcroft paced the Indians (7-11, 1-5) with 19 and 16 points, respectively.
Swansea’s boys routed Pelion 74-44 in Region 5-2A. Gerald Loadholt (19 points), Byron Johnson (12) and Chris Dorrah (11) led the way for the Tigers (9-13, 4-3). Tory Davis had 13 points for the Panthers (1-14, 1-6).
Keenan’s girls set up a Region 3-2A sweep by winning the opener at Eau Claire on Friday. The Raiders (8-8, 5-1) halted a two-game losing steak with a tight 34-32 win. Keira Robinson paced the Raiders with 14 points. Logan Jones scored 10 for EC (6-7, 3-3).
