White Knoll ended its winless status in Region 5-4A basketball with a sweep of Aiken on Friday at home.
The Timberwolves boys (10-11, 1-5) put on a 16-11 rally in the fourth quarter to nip Aiken 44-43. Emarius Logan and Julian Johnson shared scoring honors for WK with 13 points each and Keith Jumper had solid backing with 12 points. The win ended a seven-game losing skid. In the opener, Sommer Cagle (19 points), Kiara Keisler (11) and Elizabeth Voelker (10) helped the T-Wolves end a six-game losing streak and post their first region win. White Knoll stands at 7-11 overall, 1-5 in the conference.
Lexington came away with two wins at North Augusta. The Wildcats boys (16-5, 6-0) rolled 75-46, breaking it open with a 24-11 burst in the third quarter. Shaq Roland set the pace with 17 points and he had 12-point backing from Sam McDermott and Jalen Cook. Lexington’s girls (11-9, 5-1) downed the Yellow Jackets 40-34 as Janai Pinckney and Allison Kay led the way with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
