A.C. Flora and Lexington will play today for the championship of the 22nd Annual International Paper Classic in Georgetown.
The all-Midlands clash is set for 3 p.m. at Mike Johnson Park.
Flora wrapped up a 3-0 run through the Class 3A bracket with a five-inning, 11-1 win over Greenville on Saturday. Donald Gillespie drove in three runs and Schroder Carlton had two RBIs to pace the attack. Daniel Walker scattered four hits in five innings of work to pick up the mound win.
Lexington completed a 3-0 showing in the 4A bracket by downing Carolina Forest 10-4. Dillon Hodge and Collin Steagall provided the offensive highlights with home runs. Hodge’s circuit shot was a grand slam. Steagall had three hits in five at bats.
Hodge was also in the winning pitcher, working four innings in relief of starter Reece Burnett.
