LOOKING FOR THIS week’s Top Ticket games? Here we go:
A.C. Flora at Lower Richland
The Falcons are unbeaten in South Carolina and the Diamond Hornets will be their biggest test in region play. Flora quarterback Jake Lewis will lead a potent offensive attack against an aggressive LR defense. Flora is +7 in turnovers and that is a big part of its success.
Dutch Fork at White Knoll
The Foxes of Dutch Fork are on a roll behind the play of quarterback Derek Olenchuk and wide receiver Jordan Berry. The Foxes’ defense has improved and will be tested on the ground by a White Knoll offense that prefers to pound the football. This is a key game for both teams, but even more important for the Wolves with one region loss already.
Hammond at Pinewood Prep
This SCISA battle will see the Skyhawks get back on track after last week’s loss to Augusta Christian. Sophomore quarterback Nick Garrett, who led the Skyhawks on two second-half scoring drives last week, will get his first start and the Skyhawks should begin a new win streak.
Irmo at Richland Northeast
The Irmo Yellow Jackets dominated the first half of their game last week against Spring Valley before returning to their mistake-prone football in the second half. Richland Northeast played an outstanding game and lost going for the win against Blythewood on a two-point conversion attempt. This game is vital to each of these teams for region standing and playoff implications and is a must-win for Irmo.
Darlington at Marlboro County
The Falcons are an improved team under second-year coach Will Lampkin, and quarterback Darvia Dubose is playing strong. Marlboro County will be playing without its starting quarterback, but the defense is strong and the Bulldogs need this win for a first-round home game in the playoffs.
Goose Creek at Wando
Battle of the unbeatens and a region game to top it off. The Gators have a powerful offensive attack to challenge the Warriors’ defense. Wando will throw an offense at the Gators that is similar to what they saw against Dutch Fork. The key to this game will be productive, time consuming offensive drives by the Warriors with quarterback Christian Hart.
Northwestern at York
It’s a potent Air Raid offense against a physical defense. This game will make for some good football. Both teams are loaded with talent. Northwestern QB Mason Rudolph, who was offered by LSU this week, will lead the Trojan offense with multiple weapons at wide receiver. York needs the win to get back on track. A win by York would leave it in contention for the region and a big matchup with South Pointe.
