THIS WEEK’S Top Ticket games:
Dreher at A.C. Flora
The smack talk has been heated on social networks. Flora is locked in at No. 1 in the region while upset-minded Dreher would like to head into the playoffs with big momentum. Sophomore defensive back Rion Davis is one to watch for the Falcons.
Brookland-Cayce at Airport
With both teams winless in region play, this is for nothing more than bragging rights and to keep from finishing last in the Region 5-3A. Look for big play from Bearcats senior quarterback Drew Towery and an offensive line anchored by senior Brandon Baxter.
Byrnes at Dorman
One of the biggest games in the state between two teams who have a “big history” with one another in the past few years. A win by Dorman could seed them as high as No. 2 in the playoffs. The winner still has a shot at the Region crown if Gaffney falls in one of their remaining two games. It’s a matchup between the region’s top two quarterbacks with Byrnes’ Shuler Bentley and Dorman’s Trey Rogers.
Blue Ridge at Greer
It’s a battle of offenses as Blue Ridge brings in a high-scoring machine against Greer in a game that is for the Region championship pride and a No. 1 seed in the playoffs.
Marlboro County at Manning
This rivalry has more bite this year with Manning back in Region 6-3A. This game will decide the No. 2 spot in the region and at least one home playoff game.
Nation Ford at Northwestern:
Summerville at Ashley Ridge
Summerville Coach John McKissick is looking for his 600th win.
Dutch Fork at Lexington
This is a must-win for Lexington. At 1-2 in the region, they need a win to avoid any tie-breakers for the third spot and must follow up with a win over White Knoll next week. Otherwise, the ’Cats will be taking up equipment after next week’s game. Dutch Fork can ill-afford to overlook Lexington before next week’s matchup with North Augusta.
Sumter at Conway
In a region as perplexing as The Matrix, the Gamecocks have a shot at this region. Conway had been impressive with its offense prior to last week’s meltdown. This game is huge for position in the region.
