On Tuesday, second and third portions of the Mingo Bay baseball tournament will begin at 10 area high schools.
Aynor, Carolina Forest, Conway, Georgetown, Loris, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Socastee, St. James and Waccamaw will all be used as host sites, and all 10 of those area programs will participate in the tournament.
Below is the schedule for the first three days at each site, which includes the Mingo Bay 2 and Mingo Bay 3 tournaments (Mingo Bay 1 is being played exclusively with out-of-area teams this week; more on Mingo Bay 3 below). After Thursday’s games – barring rainouts – the teams will be seeded for what is essentially four different championship brackets.
The semifinals for those will be played on Friday, with the title games begin played Saturday. Friday’s games will be set late Thursday night.
Never miss a local story.
That applies for nearly all of next week’s teams, and for all 10 area teams.
However, Mingo Bay 3 include the 16 of the out-of-state teams not allowed to play schools unaffiliated with their state’s respective high-school league. Those teams are playing a mini-tournament of their own.
