21st annual Taco Bell Track And Field Classic Meet
Friday-Saturday at Spring Valley
Athletes and teams from Maryland to Florida and across South Carolina will be in competition in this top-notch meet.
More than 40 teams are entered, including Eau Claire, Batesburg-Leesville and Spring Valley. The varsity meet begins Friday at 6 p.m.It resumes at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and wraps with a 7:30 p.m. awards ceremony.
Airport Select Invitational
Today-Sunday at Airport
For the fourth year, the Airport Eagles host their 12-team pool-play tournament.
Airport kicks off its tournament with a match against Blythewood at 5:15 on today.
Cardinal Newman, Dreher, Hammond and Dutch Fork are the other local teams in the tournament, which concludes with a 1 p.m. championship match Sunday.
Dreher’s Third Annual Pink Out
Softball teams from Hammond, Lexington, Indian Land and Goose Creek join Dreher in its annual fundraising Pink Out tournament. The Blue Devils are donating part of the proceeds from the tournament to SCOA Cares Foundation in honor of former coach and breast cancer survivor Elly Blacquiere.
The tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Dreher’s Memorial Stadium.
Monday-Tuesday at Columbia Country Club
The Blythewood Bengals, led by seniors Bryce Howell and Ben Jansen, host this 36-hole tournament, which features 22 teams, including A.C. Flora, Chapin, Dutch Fork and Lexington. The first-round match has a noon shotgun start on Monday, and a scheduled 10 a.m. start for Tuesday.
