Henry Woodward Invitational
SaturdayApril 20, at Heathwood Hall
This annual meet showcases SCISA’s top teams two weeks before the league championship meet.
The Highlanders host this meet for boys and girls, featuring teams from Cardinal Newman, Hammond, Ben Lippen and a dozen other SCISA programs, along with SCHSL’s Westwood.
It is among the final outings for Gabe Brandner, the Highlanders’ leading thrower, and Ben Lippen jumper Tyler Renew. Heathwood’s girls are led by junior distance runner Sydney Grice.
Dreher vs. Camden
TuesdayApril 23, 7 p.m., at Camden
The Blue Devils (12-4) travel to Camden (10-5) in a tie for second in Region 5-3A. Camden can climb into that race with a win. The Bulldogs notched a 2-1 win against Dreher in their March 15 meeting.
Dreher has won four in a row; Camden is recovering from a 3-1 loss against A.C. Flora.
Lexington vs. Blythewood
WednesdayApril 24, 7:15 p.m., at Blythewood
After a four-game winless stretch, Lexington (11-6-1) bounced back with a 3-2 win against South Aiken on Tuesday. In this non-region match-up, the Wildcats face a tough Blythewood squad (8-6).
At 4-3, Lexington is sitting in fourth place in Region 5-4A; Blythewood, 5-2, is in third in Region 4-4A.
Blythewood vs. Ridge View
FridayApril 19, 6:30 p.m., at Ridge View
The streaking Bengals close the regular season with this Region 4-4A rematch. Blythewood defeated Ridge View 3-1 in their March 22 meeting.
The Blazers were 9-11 heading into their Wednesday game against Westwood. Blythewood was 19-3 before hosting Brookland-Cayce on Wednesday.
