For the most part, the first-round playoff match-ups for Grand Strand baseball and softball teams have been set.
There are a number of exceptions, but as of Tuesday afternoon, the 23 area teams (out of 26 total) that qualified for the district postseason know what's in front of them. The most noticeable exception is Conway softball.
The Tigers - who finished third in Region VI-AAAA - were preparing to play Bluffton, the top seed from Region VII-AAAA. However, a protested game between Summerville and Fort Dorchester led Conway back to flux. The Tigers, according to coach Mike Skipper, will have to wait for those latter two teams to play again Tuesday night before that region can crown a champion.

Conway will head to either Bluffton or Summerville, depending on tonight's result. That first-round game will have to still be played Thursday, as Conway's prom is set for Friday evening.
The Class AAA playoffs for both softball and baseball begin Friday; all others will commence Thursday.
