High school baseball stars from across the state will play in two-day exhibition

Some of the state’s top high school players will gather at Carolina Stadium on Saturday and Sunday for the Palmetto Games, an annual event sponsored by Diamond Prospects, a South Carolina-based scouting and news service.

The 140 players will be split geographically into six teams, with each team playing a pair of games. The game times for the six games are Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

A number of the participating players from the classes of 2014 and 2015 have made college commitments, including South Carolina recruits such as Greenville High outfielder Clark Scolamiero, Blythewood High catcher Tyler Romanik, and Wando High outfielder Kep Brown.

Admission is $10 daily or $15 for a two-day pass. There is no charge for children ages 10-and-under. For more information, go to www.thediamondprospects.com.
