Top Week 0 games in the state on Friday night:
Calhoun County at Swansea: Coach Bill Kimrey returns to the sideline, but his return could be rough as Calhoun County takes on one of the Midlands’ top teams in Swansea. The Tigers are one of Region 5-3A’s top teams and return star power in running back Travis Loadholt and linebacker John Sutton.
Chester at York: These rivals could have one of the better games of the weekend. Chester returns one of 2015’s brightest quarterbacks and will face off against a physical and aggressive team in the York Cougars. Both are contenders in their respective regions.
Gaffney at Northwestern: This in the top game of the week with 4A No. 1 at 4A No. 2. The Indians will be without USC commitment Shaq Davidson, who is injured, as they meet an explosive offensive team led by Oklahoma State quarterback commitment Mason Rudolph.

Lower Richland at Spring Valley: The Diamond Hornets are strong in the trenches but break in a new set of skill players against 4A Midlands power Spring Valley. The Vikings return one of the top defenses in the state, anchored by Alabama commitment, linebacker Christian Miller.
Mallard Creek (N.C.) at Dillon: Mallard Creek brings a a dangerous offensive team and could prove to be too much for the defending 2A state champion Wildcats. Dillon is led by quarterback Avery McCall.
Silver Bluff at Strom Thurmond: A great geographic rivalry. Silver Bluff will face a tough Strom Thurmond team, which returns one of Class 3A’s top players in quarterback Jua’veer Hammond.
South Pointe at Irmo: In this battle of top 10 teams, South Pointe returns a strong roster to face an Irmo team looking to compete for the region crown in Region 4-4A. Irmo quarterback Demetrius Lewis will be tested by all-state defensive lineman Zeke Rodney and a strong defensive line for South Pointe.
White Knoll at A.C. Flora: Former A.C. Flora coach Dean Howell is coaching the Timberwolves. Rebuilding is taking place in both programs but the Timberwolves appear to be the favored team.
Apopka (Fla.) at Byrnes: This Saturday game pits Florida’s defending 8A champion against a strong Rebels team that has fared well against out-of-state opponents in recent years. Byrnes has quarterback Shuler Bentley and an explosive offense.
Marlboro County at Chesterfield: Marlboro County returns experience at quarterback and a strong team in the trenches. The Rams are solid on offense but their defense will be tested.
