Benedict releases 2008 football schedule

The Benedict College Athletic Department announced its 11-game 2008 football schedule. Five games will be played at Benedict’s Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

The Tigers open with the seventh annual Palmetto Capital City Classic against Morehouse College on Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.

The Tigers go to Orangeburg on Sept. 6 to meet South Carolina State at 6 p.m. On Sept. 13, the Tigers go to Tuskegee University for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

On Sept. 20 at 6 p.m., the Tigers play host to Lenoir-Rhyne College for a non-conference match-up, then will host Albany State University on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.

Next are three conference road games: Oct. 4, at Miles College (Birmingham, Ala.), at 2 p.m.; Oct. 11, at Lane College (Jackson, Tenn.) at 5 p.m.; and at Fort Valley State University (Ga.) on Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.

Homecoming will be Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. against Stillman College. On Nov. 1, the Tigers will play host to Kentucky State University at 2 p.m.

The Tigers conclude the regular season Nov. 8 against Clark Atlanta University in the Central Savannah River Area Classic in Augusta, Ga.
