Although Tropical Storm Hanna is churning its way toward South Carolina, officials at Shaw Air Force Base said Saturday’s air show will go on as scheduled.

But that plan could change if the storm’s path changes and threatens the Sumter area, Col. James Post, commander of the 20th Fighter Wing, said Wednesday.

ShawFest 2008 runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with gates opening at 7:30 a.m. It’s free and open to the public. The show will feature an assortment of military aircraft and several aerial demonstrations.
