Myrtle Beach spokesman Mark Kruea says the city manager will meet with other officials to discuss their planning for Tropical Storm Hanna.
Kruea (CREW-ah) says workers on Thursday began removing portable restrooms from the city's beaches. On Friday, workers were to remove trash cans and other items that could easily be picked up by the wind.
Kruea says the latest forecast shows the area getting a glancing blow from the storm, but he wants residents and tourists to continue to monitor Hanna's progress.
North Myrtle Beach spokeswoman Nicole Aiello says city employees are checking generators and other emergency equipment and plan to clean up the beaches by Friday.
