Craft beer is here
WORLD BEER FESTIVAL: Noon-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St. South Carolina breweries will be highlighted along with the national and regional folks. Columbia’s River Rat and Conquest Brewery are on the list to offer tastings. Other Palmetto State breweries who have confirmed are Benford, Brewery 85, Frothy Beard and Wooden Skiff. The festival will also feature specialty cheese and beer pairings, beer education seminars and the popular silent disco experience. General admission tickets are $40 and come with a tasting glass and unlimited 2-oz. tastings. Food will be available for purchase. Tickets may be purchased at http://worldbeerfestival.com or at either Green’s location and Morganelli’s Party Store on Forest Drive. A portion of the proceeds will go to Columbia Opportunity Resource.
