Watch: Kat causes chaos for Nikki, Jason in 'Trying' Season 5

June 9 (UPI) -- Apple TV is giving a glimpse of Trying Season 5.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the series Tuesday featuring Esther Smith and Rafe Spall.

Trying is a comedy-drama following Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall), a couple whose dream of becoming parents comes true when they adopt two children, siblings Princess and Tyler.

Season 5 follows Nikki, Jason and their family as Princess (Scarlett Rayner) and Tyler's (Cooper Turner) biological mother, Kat (Charlotte Riley), brings chaos to their settled family life.

The trailer shows Kat (Riley) bond with Princess and Tyler, sending Nikki into "complete panic mode," while Jason pursues becoming a social worker.

Other cast members include Darren Boyd, Siân Brooke, Celia Imrie, Phil Davis, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Colin Morgan.

Trying is created, written and executive produced by Andy Wolton. Season 5 premieres July 8 on Apple TV.
