All about alcott

"Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women," the first film biography on author Louisa May Alcott, debuts at 9 p.m. Monday on ETV stations.

The film is not your typical production. Interwoven with the scenes are interviews with Alcott scholars, including former USC American literature professor Joel Myerson.

Myerson, who taught at USC from 1971 until he retired in 2003, has written, edited or co-authored around 50 books. And he is a book collector.

The Joel Myerson Collection of Nineteenth-Century American Literature at USC, donated by Myerson in 2001, has 12,000 volumes, including major collections of works by Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman.

"Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women" will air on WRLK-35, cable channel 11.
