Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor and moonlighting singer who releases hit songs, will perform at the Colonial Life Arena Sept. 18.

The arena is a giant step up for Foxx who last performed in Columbia in March 2007 at The Township.

Since his best actor Oscar win for his starring role in "Ray," Foxx's records have had more buzz than his films.

"The Soloist," released earlier this year, received mild reviews. But the first three singles off "Intuition," an album released in December, continue to be in heavy rotation on urban stations.

"Just Like Me," "She Got Her Own" and the now-ubiquitous "Blame It," which features T-Pain, suggest Foxx's radio popularity isn't a fluke.

Tickets, which cost $39.75 to $59.75, go on sale at 10 a.m. July 10. Tickets can be purchased at the arena box office; Play It Again Sports stores; online at www.coloniallifearena.com; or by calling (866) 472-8499.
