It’s time for summer beach reads – and you can meet the best-selling author of one of the latest such books in Camden.
Camden’s Books on Broad will host South Carolina native Dorothea Benton Frank for a Tuesday luncheon celebrating the release of her latest book, “All Summer Long.”
The book follows a New York couple – glamorous interior designer Olivia Ritchie and her husband Nicholas Seymour, an English professor and true Southern gentleman – as they are swept up into the world of the ultra-rich and travel the globe with a cast of zany eccentrics over one tumultuous, hot summer, and find themselves pondering the next step of their lives, which includes plans for a move to the Charleston area. It’s the story of how plans evolve and lives change in unexpected ways, how even those who have everything are looking for something more, and even the most successful can often struggle to keep things together.
Tickets to the luncheon are $50 and include lunch and a hardback copy of “All Summer Long.” The event is at the Historic Robert Mills Courthouse in Camden, 607 Broad St. Buy tickets in advance at Books on Broad, 944 Broad St., by calling (803) 713-7323 or at www.booksonbroad.com
