USC picked up its second commitment for the 2009 class Saturday when TE Justice Cunningham (6-3 232) of Central made his pledge following the spring game.
"I talked to coach Reaves and he just asked me, and I said yes," Cunningham said. "I feel good about my decision. I don't have any second thoughts about that. I already liked it and my mom said she liked it. I like the fan support a lot, and I like how they are trying to come up (as a program)."
USC is Cunningham's only offer. He also drew interest from Clemson, NC State and Maryland.
Last season he had 21 catches for 400 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense, Cunningham had 92 tackles, seven sacks and two interceptions.

"He's a heck of an athlete," said Central coach Joey Mangum. He was as good as (current USC defensive end) Cliff Matthews as a junior. He moves well. He can play down." Cunningham said he could end up on the defensive line with the Gamecocks.
Though he is listed as a tight end, he could end up at other positions.
