Former USC men’s basketball player Chad Gray has joined the Coastal Carolina program, the school announced.
Gray was dismissed from the Gamecocks by coach Darrin Horn last month, citing “repeated violations of team rules.”
Gray, a 6-foot-7 forward from Kingstree, will sit out next season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Gray played sparingly in two seasons with the Gamecocks, starting one game.

“He will add to our power in the paint,” Coastal Carolina coach Cliff Ellis said. “Certainly, having an SEC performer come to our program excites me, but he has range to 15 feet and skills outside of the paint, so he will add to our depth.
“Chad is a good kid, and we are glad he is joining the program.”
