Junior point guard Eric Smith (6-0 185) of Mullins made unofficial visits to USC and Clemson earlier this week as me moves farther down the road towards a decision.
"I was at South Carolina Tuesday," Smith said. "I didn't tour the school. I just talked to the coaches for an hour, coach Horn and coach Bunton, and met all the other coaches. Wednesday, I took an unofficial visit to Clemson. I toured the whole school and got to meet people. They showed me how it would be if I went to Clemson. My favorite right now is Clemson because I know that background. I know the coaches well and they have been on me since day one. They were the first ones to offer."
Smith said USC is second on his list and Wake Forest is third. He hopes to visit Wake Forest and he might visit Florida. Clemson and USC are his only offers right now. He's also hearing from Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Cal and LSU.
Smith said he'd like to make a decision before this season and he probably will visit Clemson and USC again. "They are showing me a lot of love," Smith said of the instate schools. "They're letting me know they want me to become a part of their program."
