USC baseball coach Ray Tanner may soon be leading another search for a recruiting coordinator.
Gamecocks assistant coach Monte Lee confirmed that he’s a finalist for the head coaching job at his alma mater, the College of Charleston. The other reported finalist is Clemson assistant Tom Riginos, after North Carolina assistant Chad Holbrook and College of Charleston assistant Scott Foxhall pulled out.
The new coach will replace John Pawlowski, who left for Auburn. Lee declined further comment.
Lee, 31, was promoted to full-time assistant coach last year after Jim Toman left to become the coach at Liberty. Lee spent the previous five seasons at USC as a part-time coach and camp coordinator.
