A handful of USC recruits remain in limbo with about two weeks remaining before the start of preseason practice.
Georgia Military defensive lineman Jarriel King, who originally signed with USC in 2005, needs to complete a math course to be admitted to the university, while offensive lineman Elliot Williams of Woodstock, Ga., is waiting for the NCAA Clearinghouse to approve his transcript.
Others with pending eligibility issues include Tori Childers, a prep school athlete from Rock Hill, and three recruits from Georgia — defensive ends Chaz Sutton and Ronald Byrd and safety Darrell Simmons.
The rest of USC’s signees are enrolled in the second session of summer school. That group includes Summerville’s Reid McCollum, who enrolled in January but left school two weeks later due to homesickness.
