DB Damario Jeffery (6-3 213) of Columbia attended USC's Showcase Camp Friday, and he said he did so for one reason.
"My whole purpose was to show them I can play safety," Jeffery said. "I know all I need to know about South Carolina, and now they need to find something out about me. I did great in the one on ones. The coaches saw I can play safety. They saw that I can cover. They liked my performance overall."
Jeffery said he definitely wants to play safety in college, not linebacker as some have suggested.
Jeffery had thought about visiting Alabama next week but said he won't. In fact, he said he's finished visiting schools for now.

Jeffery continues to favor USC over Alabama and Auburn. He said he talked to Stephon Gilmore of South Pointe, Sam Montgomery of Greenwood and Chris Bonds of Richland Northeast while at the camp.
