He was a low scoring sub last season, but Ridge View junior forward Mike Green (6-8) has had a big summer thus far and is now drawing the serious looks of Clemson's Oliver Purnell and USC's Darrin Horn.
"He's really blown up this summer," Ridge View coach John Combs said. "He's gotten better physically and maturity wise each year. George Glymph worked with him this summer and has really helped him.."
Combs said Green is not bad facing the basket and has improved his back to the basket moves. He has a long wingspan and is a good shot blocker.
Combs said Green's recruiting is about to take off. "Clemson saw him in Orlando and loved him," he said. "USC also is interested He attended their Elite Camp last Saturday. A lot of people want to come in and look at him in the fall." Winthrop and Auburn are two other programs showing serious interest in Green who has not yet been offered.
