OL David Harding (6-5 285) of Orlando spent about six hours Friday on on the USC campus for an unofficial visit with his parents. It was his first visit to Columbia and he liked everything about the Gamecock program.
"We went and talked with coach Hunt," Harding said. "I had talked with him before. It was good for my parents to talk with him. We took a tour of the stadium and the facilities. I was impressed with that. I met with the weight room staff. They are high intensity guys and I respond to that a lot. I liked that. I talked with coach Spurrier for a few minutes. We talked aobut different football things. Then we toured the campus. I had never been there before. Then we me with the academic advisers. Academics are real important to me. I was able to sit in on an offensive line meeting. I got to meet the whole offensive line. I took a lot out of there. It was a great visit overall. They are one of my top schools along with Duke and Cental Florida. I could see myself playing there. I'm not ready to make a decision just yet, but I liked it a lot."
Harding said he hopes to get his decision done before his season. And there's no clear cut leader between USC, Duke and UCF. "It's really difficult," he said. "It fluctuates. One minute I think this, and one minute I think that. They are all standing pretty tall, pretty equal."
Except for making the short ride over to UCF to take in a practice, Harding said he won't make any more visits before making his decision. He visited Duke earlier in the summer.
