DE Justin Jones (6-8 250) of Conyers, GA committed to Kentucky in late June, but that commitment could end as early as Thursday. Jones made an unofficial visit to USC last weekend for the Georgia game and said Wednesday night he might decommit Thursday when Kentucky recruiter Joker Phillips comes to his school. "I'm going to keep my options open," Jones said. "It's not over until mid February. I'm suppose to meet with coach Phillips tomorrow and possibly decommit."
Jones also plays tight end but primarily is playing defensive end this season. While in Columbia Saturday he met with recruiter Ron Cooper, defensive line coach Brad Lawing, and spoke briefly with head coach Steve Spurrier. "They said they would give me the opportunity to play defensive end there and tight end," Jones said. "Which ever one fits me best. They made it clear my offer was still on the table. I really like it over there."
Jones has not set any official visits but plans to with USC and Alabama. Alabama has not yet offered. He also has offers from UAB, East Carolina, Akron and Delaware. Jones has been to a game at Georgia this season and plans to go the Kentucky at Alabama and the Alabama at Georgia games.
