USC Recruit Suffers Season Ending Injury

USC commitment LB Matt Coffee (5-11 210) of Fort Walton Beach, FL suffered a torn ACL in his left knee last Friday night and will miss the rest of his senior season. Coffee tore the ligament as he planted his foot to make a tackle.

"Obviously I'm dissapointed," Coffee told the Walton Sun newspaper. "I'm trying not really to think about it. There's nothing I can do about it."

Coffee will have surgery in a few weeks and will then begin the rehabilitation process. He has been in touch with USC and said the Gamecocks assured him his scholarship off is still in place. "Everything is good with them," Coffee told the Sun. "I'm still going to go there."
