The USC baseball team gained a pair of commitments over the weekend, one for each of the next two classes. For the 2009 class, the Gamecocks landed C/UTI Robert Beary (5-10 185) of Pensacola JC, FL. Beary is a native of Apopka, FL and was the conference player of the year last season after hitting .426 with 16 home runs, 15 doubles and 4 triples, and 76 RBIs.
For the 2010 class USC gained a commitment from LHP Jimmy Revan (5-10 155) who will be a freshman at Spartanburg Methodist JC this season. Revan was state 4A player of the year last season for Boiling Springs High School last season. He was 11-0 with a 0.75 ERA. He struck out 119 batters in 72 innings of work. He also batted .340.
