DB Stephon Gilmore (6-2 195) of South Pointe will make his official visit to USC this weekend. His parents will join him. Gilmore has been to USC several times, so he plans to use this visit to further enhance his knowledge of the program. "I just want to make sure that I'm at home if I decide to go there," Gilmore said. "It's a homestate school. I've been there five or six times. I like their defense. Coach (Ellis) Johnson is a good coach."
This will be Gilmore's second official visit. He visited Tennessee last weekend with his family. "They didn't play well (against Florida) but I liked the atmosphere," Gilmore said. "It was a great visit and I'm glad I went." Gilmore said he talked with Vols head coach Phillip Fulmer for about an hour. USC and Tennessee are recruiting him as a corner.
Gilmore will visit Alabama October 4th. He's considering Clemson, Florida and Florida State for his other visits. He does not have a favorite. Gilmore said USC, Tennessee and Alabama seem to be recruiting him the hardest. He plans to make a decision soon after his last official visit but might not announce a decision until the playoffs or all star game.
