Senior receiver Kenny McKinley was wearing a garnet practice jersey Tuesday for the first time since hurting his hamstring against Vanderbilt on Sept. 4.
McKinley's status is still in doubt for Saturday's game at Mississippi, and his father said Monday he hoped to return next week against Kentucky. But McKinley was able to jog across the field at Monday's practice, also a first since straining his hamstring, and wearing garnet instead of a yellow jersey on Tuesday was a sign he will participate in some drills.
USC's practices are only open for the first 15 minutes, so it was unknown how much McKinley would practice.
