USC commitment LB Tony Straughter (6-1 211) of Georgia Military JC remains committed to the Gamecocks, but he said Sunday night he has scheduled two other official visits. Straughter will visit Ole Miss November 1st and West Virginia December 6th. Straughter also had scheduled a visit to Kansas State but he canceled that visit.
"My home is still going to be South Carolina," Straughter said. "I just want to see if the academics support is as good as South Carolina's, and the strength and conditioning program. And I want to see how the depth charts are. I talked to coach (Ron) Cooper last Thursday. He was telling me they still need me and they're glad I'm still aboard, and hopefully I'll stay aboard. I'm feeling pretty solid. I just want to compare."
Straughter's teammate, LB Josh Dickerson (6-2 220), also a USC commitment, said Sunday he, too, remains firm, but he might take visits to West Virginia and Tennessee.
