LEXINGTON, Ky. | Senior wide receiver Dicky Lyons Jr.'s Kentucky career is over after an MRI revealed a second ligament tear in his leg.
Coach Rich Brooks said Monday during his weekly news conference that the MRI showed a tear in Lyons posterior cruciate ligament. A medial lateral tear had been diagnosed Saturday after Lyons hurt himself on a catch in the Wildcats' loss to South Carolina.
The injury is the latest blow to a Kentucky offense that has struggled, particularly in the passing game. Brooks says freshman Randall Cobb, the team's backup quarterback, inherits the role as the No. 1 receiver and punt returner.
Kentucky hosts Arkansas Saturday. Former Louisville coach Bobby Petrino now coaches the Razorbacks.
