LB Jonathan Davis (5-9 205) of Tucker, GA is taking an unofficial visit to USC this weekend. It will be his first trip to Columbia. Davis's father says that both USC and Clemson are in his son's top five.
Playing time is very important to Davis. "He wants to play in his first year," said his father of Davis who is being recruited at both linebacker and running back. "It doesn't matter which side of the ball as long as he's playing," he added. His father said they feel Davis has a better shot at playing early at USC (at runningback). "Clemson loses (James) Davis but still has (CJ) Spiller and (Jamie) Harper. If Spiller left early, that could change things," Davis's father said.
They are looking forward to meeting with coaches Steve Spurrier and Ron Cooper and hope to get a better idea of what to expect as a freshman playing at USC. Davis did not give a list of his top five only acknowledging that Clemson and USC are a part of it. He did not name a favorite.
